  Welcome to the University of Louisville’s Kappa Delta.  The Alpha Xi chapter of Kappa Delta has been on campus since April 1928 and has been working hard over the last eighty years to maintain and exceed a positive image for peers on campus and in the community. As a national organization, we have high standards in all areas from academic to social and hope that is apparent when viewing this site. Kappa Delta named 2009 Derby Princess!!

Harini Chenna, a member of Kappa Delta, is a senior majoring in Psychology and Pre-Med at the University of Louisville. She is a member of the Arts and Sciences Student Council,a member of the Phi Eta Sigma honor society and is a Guaranteed Entrance into Medical School Scholar. She was chosen from over 90 applicants based on knowledge of the Derby Festival, poise, intelligence, personality and campus and community involvement.This is the THIRD year in a row a Kappa Delta has been chosen as a Derby Princess. Congratulations to Harini for this honor!

Harini was actually also picked out of the Derby Princesses to be the Derby Queen! Congrats Harini!

KD Loves Philanthropy Days!

Kappa Delta had the most representation at two philanthropy events this past year, Sigma Chi's Sigmapalooza and Pi Kappa Alpha's Pikes of the Carribean!

Kappa Delta joins forces with Dove Campaign! 

 In early 2006, Ka ppa Delta proudly joined forces with Dove in their Dove Campaign for Real Beauty. This campaign is to help raise the self esteems of girls and women of all different shapes and sizes. "The campaign is a global effort intended to se rve as a starting point for societal change and act as a catalyst for widening the definition and discussion of beauty." On September 23, 2008, the Alpha Xi chapter of Kappa Delta here in Louisville, Ky helped to promote and raise awareness of this campaign at the Take Back the Night event on campus.

2008 Greek Week Champions & Greek Ball Queen

Congratulations to Kappa Delta Sorority for the title of "Greek Week Champions 2008!"  The Greek community participated in several events over an entire week that consisted of trivia games, Greek Go ddess, Greek games, reading to children and donations of school supplies to children in need. 

On Thursday, April 3rd, Kappa Delta was named the champions of Greek Week during the annual Greek Ball.  On the same night, Sister Kasey Blackford was named Greek Ball Queen!  We would like congratulate Sister Kasey for such a great honor!

Kappa Delta named Phi Kappa Tau Dreamgirl!

 

On September 4th, one of our sisters, Nicolette Jones, was named Phi Kappa Tau Dreamgirl. Congratulations to Nicolette for this honor! 

 

 

 

 

Kappa Delta partners with Churchill Downs and wins $10,000! 

 

The members of Kappa Delta recentenly participated in a contest with other sororities from UofL and the surrounding areas to raise money for Churchill Downs and our own organization. Kappa Delta took first place and won $10,000! The KD's also were allowed access to the paddock on Oaks and handed the trophy to the first winner of the day. They also were given a red carpet entrance on Derby!

        KD Gets 3rd Place in Fryberger!

 

Congratulations to Kappa Delta for placing

3rd in the Fryberger competition this year! The

 girls worked extremely hard to preform their

musical ensemble, "The Sound of Music". GO KD!

       KD has Most Representation at ULDM

     

Kappa Delta was the organization with the most

participants at this year's University of Louisville

Dance Marathon. The event raises money for

Kosair Children's Hospital. For more information,
